i never really thought i was a floral print kinda person, but about a year or so ago someone commented that my apartment had a lot of floral prints and that i must really like them. turns out my wardrobe choices prove that theory correct time and time again, too.

from the minute i saw the kate spade previews people had pinned for this line, i new i needed it. ideally, the tote bag would be mine. alas, since the cushy discount is no longer mine, makeup bag it is. but it doubles nicely as a clutch, dontcha think? 

the weather in la has been frustratingly indecisive lately, so this outfit was actually wildly inappropriate - i was FREEZING all day. isn’t it supposed to be summer all year? this nonsense wasn’t in the brochure.

this cardigan cape thing is by far one of may favorite things i own. i never wear it though because i feel like it is such a statement. but its so comfortable and i kind of feel like a superhero every time i wear it!

i needed a backpack. so i scoured the internet checked urban outfitters to see if they had anything cute. they did! so i went to the store and the power was out. so i could not buy said backpack. so i went to forever 21 and i tried to be good you guys, really - i was determined to walk out with something out of the ordinary for me. so i went into the dressing room with a pile of trousers and button up tops but none of them worked. so i walked out out with a boyfriend cardigan, jeans, and a scarf. so sue me. so i went back to urban the next day and bought (a different) backpack. so there.

if you follow me on twitter, you know that yesterday, i felt like i was wearing pjs. i didnt realize though how much i looked like i was wearing pjs until going through the photos. holy moley. lesson learned: these pants must be worn with heels. second lesson learned: only double up on cardigans with skinny jeans or leggings. i was all over the place here. live and learn, i guess.

…in a far distant land called savannah, i stumbled upon a guy on the street with racks of vintage clothes, just giving them away! there were tons of tweed jackets, so i grabbed as many as i could carry and ran home before he could change his mind. when i got home i realized they were all for a woman at least three times my size, but i didn’t care - i would have them tailored and they would be amazing. of course that didn’t happen. they sat in boxes and moved with me to at least four different apartment before i decided i would never have the time, energy or money to fix them into beauties like this coat and in a feng shui fit, i gave them all away. (i didnt say this was going to be a happy story)

i know you’ve seen a couple versions of pretty much this exact outfit already, and obviously i love this sweater (and apparently using the same titles more than once). but lets be real here, this is what i wear. and according to my weardrobe, i’m up to 86 outfit posts! i’d say thats enough time to have a few outfit repeats, no? thanks for not judging, kids. you’re the best.

everything about this outfit makes me just want to cuddle up because it is so amazingly comfortable. i cant even begin to tell you how soft this cardigan thing is. but even though its so comfy and completely covered up, i feel awesome in it which is always a plus.

hey, you remember that time ben folds played a free show at bardot for school night? it was pretty effing amazing. the thing is, its called school night for a reason. ben didn’t even come on until well after my normal bedtime so i couldn’t even muster the energy to re-wear the same outfit the next day! i had to full on scrub it tuesday and saved the outfit repeat for wednesday. 

on a side note - lots of awkward faces in these pictures, hey? not quite sure what thats about, but it is what it is. sometimes i’m an awkward girl.
