i needed a backpack. so i scoured the internet checked urban outfitters to see if they had anything cute. they did! so i went to the store and the power was out. so i could not buy said backpack. so i went to forever 21 and i tried to be good you guys, really - i was determined to walk out with something out of the ordinary for me. so i went into the dressing room with a pile of trousers and button up tops but none of them worked. so i walked out out with a boyfriend cardigan, jeans, and a scarf. so sue me. so i went back to urban the next day and bought (a different) backpack. so there.

1/15/12: holy cow its the middle of january already. WHAT. sunday i painted, marshall bought a bike, and i spent a couple of hours in a room with a bunch of nerds downtown, followed by enchilada night. felix approves. 

1/16/12: monday was spent with nontra. i had some laundry to do and we had some hanging out to catch up on. we took a walk to get crepes, but the restaurant was closed for the holiday, so we went to the candy store instead and i stocked up on taffy. its almost gone now (tuesday night). 

1/17/12: in the midst of cleaning out and organizing my craft supplies. the urge comes and goes in waves, so i took a break for food and makeouts. the kitchen is in disarray. 

1/18/12: somehow i burst a blood vessel in my eyeball. i thought i just had an eyelash in there and then i looked and it was not cute. i don’t know if wearing contacts has any effect on it or not and i’m too lazy to look it up, so i’ve just been playing it safe and wearing my glasses all week. thankfully its almost all better. 

1/19/12: hey remember that time i worked three twelve + hour days in a row? yup.

1/20/12: i’ve almost forgotten what daylight looks like. 

1/21/12: again, my weekly painting was put off until the last day of the week. but i am SO EXCITED about this one. it’s awesome. i’ll show you later. 

how flippin adorable is this shirt? i love that the camera looks like my mini diana (which, by the way, i’m working on a project with and i’m so excited to finish the roll and get it developed soon!). 

also, i kind of did my hair! you’d hardly know me if it weren’t for the toms.

not gonna lie, i totally copy-catted this outfit. i saw a pin on pinterest and immediately knew i could do the same thing. hooray inspiration! i don’t know if you can see it or not, but the tote says “i love sweets!! i am happy when i’m eating!” pretty much me in a nutshell.

i’ve started this book before but didnt get a chance to finish it, let alone get very far. but i’m halfway through it this time and i love the noir and the drama. 

i somehow almost always end up with a collection of pretty things on my dresser. 

new glasses. obsessed. 

a pretty little kitty in my neighborhood. 

flowers brighten up my desk at work. 

i seem to be having an la themed entertainment week. 

the man friend and i went on a sushi date and i forgot to take a picture of this adorable sushi cat until he was all messy.

we had a “thankful day” at work, and gave each other thank you notes. i got this little love letter from miss josie. 

my mom asked me a couple months ago what i hipster was and i couldnt really give her an answer. all i know is that i dont qualify for two reasons: one - i’m not cool enough. i care too much what other people think. and two - my open declaration of love for all things hipster immediately disqualifies me. i love hipster clothes, hipster glasses, hipster boys, you name it. so there ya go.

i love the flea market. and lately it seems like every time i go it gets better and better. 

{below} my finds from this week: an adorable wall hanging, the big sleep by raymond chandler, and hipster glasses of my own so i can give nontra back the ones i’ve had since halloween. 

but in an effort to make my blog more the way i imagine it to be - and to be less redundant in my various corners of the internet, changes need to be made. so i’m gonna try and do photo round-ups, rather than individual photos as i take them. and it wont be everything, so if you follow me on twitter or instagram (missamylovesla), it wont all be the same. {above} the week started out with lovely pink mornings. 

i got some new toms swag, and have been obsessed with these hipster glasses. 

its been chilly, so i tried out the big girl shoes with socks. i like the outcome. 

we had our mid-week lunch provided by cart for a cause, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day to nap in the grass. 

there was a celebration for november birthdays with lots of pies. 

leaving work in the dark is made better by twinkle lights. 

i wore the hipster glasses out to a hipster bar and drank a hipster beer. 

getting dressed is always kind of difficult, even though everything is so pretty. 

i’ve been craving dumplings for weeks, and i finally got them today! i love dim sum. 

and thats my week in review kids! life’s been pretty good lately.
