in the spirit of todays everybody, everywear, here i am in green. same as i discovered about red in the previous challenge, i own very little green. i may need to expand my horizons next time i go shopping. i never really feel like an outfit this simple is deserving of a post of its own, but i got quite a few you-look-nice’s and look-at-you’s today so theres that. 

last night i went to the doctor and got some vaccines for my giving trip to honduras - its only a month away! i’m so excited and nervous and at the same time it doesn’t feel real at all. know what does feel real? the pain in my arm from the shots! holy man, let me tell you.

i needed a backpack. so i scoured the internet checked urban outfitters to see if they had anything cute. they did! so i went to the store and the power was out. so i could not buy said backpack. so i went to forever 21 and i tried to be good you guys, really - i was determined to walk out with something out of the ordinary for me. so i went into the dressing room with a pile of trousers and button up tops but none of them worked. so i walked out out with a boyfriend cardigan, jeans, and a scarf. so sue me. so i went back to urban the next day and bought (a different) backpack. so there.

i’m pretty sure i have more tops representing california or los angeles than one girl needs. but this girl loves la. why? i dont know, maybe its because it’s january third and i’m outside in a chiffon skirt and a denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up. pretty sure that has a lot to do with it. but look - leaves on the ground! see, we totally have seasons.

while this guy spent a good portion of the last day of 2011 cleaning out his closet and taking a buttload of clothes to goodwill, i reached into the depths of mine for some nye inspiration. i’ve only worn this dress once before because its pretty loud and really little. i tried my best to make it a little less scandalous and more age-appropriate but still dressy and fun for our evening of excitement. also, i flippin love these booties. i kind of wish i could wear them everyday.

you know the awesome thing about the internet? you can post things like wish lists just because you’re looking for something to blog about, not expecting anything to come from it and then BOOM! people know what you want! which is how i ended up with this amazing coat as an early christmas present from a secret santa. i plan on wearing the shit out of this baby, so expect to see much of it in the near future.

in this outfit, a stranger asked me if i was a tv star. why yes, i am. you know the show, with that girl? totally me. it also got me an “oooh, look at you!” so all in all, i’d call it a winner.

holy moley, is it cold in the mornings in los angeles. time to bundle up in cozy, sweater-y layers.

let’s start off with the obvious: how effing awesome is this shirt? i think it was sophomore year (maybe junior?) of college that i went with my friends becca and jen and a couple other girls to see something corporate, the academy is, and hidden in plain view. i hopped on the emo music train kinda late, so i didn’t fully appreciate the music, but i did know enough to scoop up this baby. i’ve always been a sucker for a concert tee. 

jump head - what is it - six years (?!) and becca’s getting married next month and jen and i will be standing up there with her! which reminds me, i need to go shoe shopping!

so it seems i’m at the time in my life where everyone is growing up and getting married. its a little surreal, especially considering most of the time i still feel like i’m twelve. so while nontra and steve are off to savannah to check out the location for their big day, i’m cuddling with this guy and finding things to borrow from nontra’s closet.*
