i never really thought i was a floral print kinda person, but about a year or so ago someone commented that my apartment had a lot of floral prints and that i must really like them. turns out my wardrobe choices prove that theory correct time and time again, too.

i’ve had these tights for a good five months or so and have been dying to wear them but haven’t been able to quite figure them out. finally the stars aligned and everything came together. i liked it so much i wore it two days in a row. don’t tell anyone how gross i am. thanks.

promptly after taking these photos, i declared that i wished i could be a nudist. it would be awesome. two reasons. one: i love being naked in the sunshine. there is nothing {much} better. two: i’m just so much more comfortable without clothes on. when you’re dressed, theres always elastic thats too tight, or a waistband digging in, or a scratchy fabric bugging you. in this outfit, i’m relatively comfortable, but i still find myself constantly tugging at parts of it. also, as much as i love fashion and care about how i look, i hate getting dressed. i always have. is that weird?

i’m pretty sure i have more tops representing california or los angeles than one girl needs. but this girl loves la. why? i dont know, maybe its because it’s january third and i’m outside in a chiffon skirt and a denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up. pretty sure that has a lot to do with it. but look - leaves on the ground! see, we totally have seasons.

wouldn’t it be nice to be one of those girls who wakes up and just gets dressed? this outfit may look effortless, folks, (or not? i cant tell) but let me tell you, it was not. i am one of those girls who stands for hours in front of a packed to the gills closet in a bathrobe contemplating not leaving the house because i have nothing to wear. its a sickness i’ve been dealing with my whole life. in the end though, it usually does somehow pull itself together. 

i did, however, get told today that i gave A+ service. you bet your ass i do. doesn’t hurt to hear it though.

my new nutso holiday work schedule sometimes leaves me scrambling to find a photographer every (dress up) day, but i am LOVING the three o’clock light! it’s so friendly and flattering. 

this is another outfit pretty blatantly copied from someone else (this time from jessica of what i wore). although now that i look back at it, it isn’t as exact as i was thinking it would be, which is good. but that’s why we’re all doing this, right? to share and inspire? plus, she was the first personal style fashion blog i ever followed and my inspiration to actually start doing it myself.

i hope y’all had a great weekend, cause mine was the kind that you file under super fantastic. we had little road trip double date up to santa barbara to see a show (more on that later!) and found a pumpkin patch on the way up, so we decided to stop and do some pumpkin pickin’. it had been super hot in la, but the temperature up north was perfect sweater weather.

let’s start off with the obvious: how effing awesome is this shirt? i think it was sophomore year (maybe junior?) of college that i went with my friends becca and jen and a couple other girls to see something corporate, the academy is, and hidden in plain view. i hopped on the emo music train kinda late, so i didn’t fully appreciate the music, but i did know enough to scoop up this baby. i’ve always been a sucker for a concert tee. 

jump head - what is it - six years (?!) and becca’s getting married next month and jen and i will be standing up there with her! which reminds me, i need to go shoe shopping!

remember awhile back when we found that trailer park? apparently we didn’t go in deep enough to discover that not only is it filled with so many amazingly decorated and dilapidated homes, but there is also - a pool! joy of joys! if only we could have gotten inside. i’m comfortable with mild trespassing at the moment, but full on climbing fences? not there yet. 

in hindsight looking at the photos, i wish i had tucked the top into the skirt and belted it. next time i guess. i also decided to play with the exposure. i like it.

it seems lately that i need every last minute of sleep possible. those ten extra minutes to maybe actually do something with my hair and change purses? nope, not gonna happen. so this morning when i saw that it was going to be eight eight degrees today, all i could think was SKIRT! BREEZY SKIRT! the tank and vest i threw on in a foggy haze and wasn’t really please with it all day, but then come photo time i swapped shoes with josie and borrowed her scarf to tie it all together and the outcome was just right.
