every time i wear this top i feel a bit like a sailor, but inevitably someone tells me i look like waldo. i like it anyway. and i really like these pants. i’ve been on the hunt for black jersey trousers and finally found them! guess where?

promptly after taking these photos, i declared that i wished i could be a nudist. it would be awesome. two reasons. one: i love being naked in the sunshine. there is nothing {much} better. two: i’m just so much more comfortable without clothes on. when you’re dressed, theres always elastic thats too tight, or a waistband digging in, or a scratchy fabric bugging you. in this outfit, i’m relatively comfortable, but i still find myself constantly tugging at parts of it. also, as much as i love fashion and care about how i look, i hate getting dressed. i always have. is that weird?

i’ve started this book before but didnt get a chance to finish it, let alone get very far. but i’m halfway through it this time and i love the noir and the drama.

i somehow almost always end up with a collection of pretty things on my dresser.

new glasses. obsessed.

a pretty little kitty in my neighborhood.

flowers brighten up my desk at work.

i seem to be having an la themed entertainment week.

the man friend and i went on a sushi date and i forgot to take a picture of this adorable sushi cat until he was all messy.

holiday shoes!

we had a “thankful day” at work, and gave each other thank you notes. i got this little love letter from miss josie.

i’m trying to break out of my bubble, but also keeping in mind that its okay to have a routine and know what works. finding the balance and realizing that nobody really gives a shit, when it comes down to it. not in a bad way - just in a do-your-own-thing-and-be-happy-with-it kinda way.

(classic amy face. i’m so awkward.)

i distinctly remember wearing an outfit almost exactly like this when the movie now and then came out. what grade was i in…? fifth i think. i had brown stirrup pants, slouchy grey wool socks, brown boots and an oversized sweater that i might have borrowed from my mom. people have always said i looked like christina ricci and i wanted to be her in that movie so bad. not that she wore anything like that, but in my head it was an outfit she would have put together. who knew sixteen year later i’d be wearing the same thing again.
